Feather steps outside and the world is already in mid-celebration.

Chamomile had opened overnight, scattered across the clifftop grass like someone had been careless with the stars. Her laundry dances in the warm breeze. The sea below is enormous and calm.

She stands in her white apron and breathes it all in. Salt. Linen. Something sweet and golden she can't quite name.

She doesn't go back inside for a very long time.
